Rob became interested in theater during the summer of 1969 when he went to Showcase Playhouse in New London, NH (from which Stage Door evolved), studying under Jack Romano. He went back to Showcase the following summer, then entered Tufts University where he majored in Drama, studying under Doc Collins, Kal Burnim, Peter Arnott, and Laurence Senelick, receiving his B.A. in 1975.
Upon graduation, Rob moved to New York City and studied acting and singing at HB Studios and other venues. During the next four years, Rob also became interested in playwriting and songwriting. He met piano player/arranger Daryl Kojak in 1979 and they began a working relationship that continues to this day.
In 1980, Rob moved back to the Boston area. During the next two decades, Rob worked in marketing and graphic design for companies in the health food industry while helping to raise three daughters with his wife, Holly. Throughout these years, Rob kept active in theater. He went back to Tufts and received a Master's Degree in Playwriting in 1986. In the mid-90's, Rob started working with arranger/orchestrator Steve Sussman. Rob performed roles in community theater such as Henry Higgins in ''My Fair Lady'', and Frank Butler in ''Annie Get Your Gun''. He also wrote ''A Unitarian Christmas Pageant'', which was performed during the holiday season for seven years at his local church, and ''Moses Made Fun'', which was performed at the church in 1989 and again in 2003. In 1998, Rob's ''The Four Gospels'' was filmed as part of the church's 300th Anniversary Celebration.
In 2003, Rob retired from marketing and graphic design and began to write more frequently. The short term result was ''Lardington Lark'', a full-length musical that ran in 2004 at Regis College in Weston, MA. Later that year, Rob became a member of ASCAP. Rob next wrote ''Battle of the Bands - a Musical for Middle School'', which received a stage reading at Weston Middle School in 2008. Rob then wrote ''Just So You Are'', a straight play that was staged at Villagers Theater in Somerset, NJ, as part of their New Playwrights Series in 2013.
Rob's current project is ''I'm Not Perfect But I'm Something''. He continues to write and enjoy his family in a suburb of Boston.
